Managing Tailgate Loads and Stop Offs in Accur8 TMS

Tailgate loads in Accur8 TMS enable you to efficiently manage multiple deliveries within a single trip while accurately tracking mileage for the primary load. Adding “stop offs” to your primary load can further refine internal mileage calculations without affecting customer visibility.

Setting Up a Tailgate Load with Stop Offs

Step 1: Selecting the Primary Load

Choose the load that will serve as the primary route, which will be the main reference for mileage and IFTA calculations.

Step 2: Connecting Additional Tailgate Loads

For each additional load to be linked as a tailgate, go to the load’s info page and click on the “Tailgate” option. This action connects it to the primary load without adding to its mileage.

Step 3: Adding Stop Offs for Mileage Accuracy

If precise mileage tracking is necessary for the primary load, add “stop offs” in the load’s details.

Select “stop off” as the type instead of “location” to keep this information internal. It won’t be visible to customers, won’t show on invoices, and serves only for internal tracking and communication.

Delivering and Tracking Tailgate Loads

Step 1: Delivering According to Schedule

Proceed with delivering the tailgated loads as planned. You can deliver in any order that suits your operational needs.

Step 2: Updating Load Status Independently

Update the status of each tailgated load individually as they are completed to ensure accurate tracking in the TMS.

Invoicing and Providing Information to Customers

Step 1: Invoicing Loads Separately

Each load, including the primary and tailgated loads, should be invoiced separately. This ensures clarity in billing for each customer.

Step 2: Sharing Relevant Load Details

Share the specific load link with each customer. They will see only their load details, without access to stop off points or other customers’ information.
